Chimpa proves to be too much for Hayes at the Belasco

LOS ANGELES, Calif (June 4, 2015) - Christian “Chimpa” Gonzalez (10-0, 9 KO’s) was unafraid to mix things up last night against Darryl Hayes at the sound of the bell. Chimpa who represents Azteca Promotions, looked confident enough that he let his hands go to the head and body of his opponent from every angle possible.

The attack of Chimpa frustrated Hayes whose only answer he had was to hold. On many occasions. Hayes was being pressured and found himself hugging Gonzalez throughout the bout during all six rounds.

In the second round , referee Sharon Sands deducted a point for the continuous holding. After this point deduction, Chimpa continued his attack which hurt Hayes as Chimpa attacked with multiple straight hands to the chin of Hayes.

In the fifth round, Hayes looked as if he would make a comeback when he connected a hook on Chimpa but not before the referee had to deduct yet another point from Hayes for pushing Chimpas head down

The high pressure of Chimpa proved to be too much for Hayes to handle and it showed as Chimpa was awarded the Unanimous Decision victory after six hard fought rounds.
